Eat. Drink. Social.

Unicorn Frappuccinos? Hamburgers with marshmallows and sprinkles? Are we eating because it tastes good or because it makes a good photo op? Nick Pena of @TheFoode raises this interesting point on the latest episode of  Eat, Drink, Social. Named one of Miami’s “Top Food Instagram Accounts” by Ocean Drive Magazine, find out how Nick differentiated himself in the sea of foodie influencers and what restaurant he’d recommend in Miami. Insta-Stats

With the growth of IG Stories (500 million daily users), Instagram continues to gain momentum in 2019. The good news? People are open to interacting with brands on the network.

  • 57% of Instagram users said they use the platform more than a year ago.

  • 66% of people surveyed said that Instagram is a platform that allows interaction with brands.

  • 36% of Instagram users say they want short marketing content (15 seconds or less).

New Features

  • Do you ever wish you could take it back? Facebook now lets users unsend messenger messages.

  • Streaming is better together. Twitter has added the feature to allow hosts to invite others to join their live streams.

  • If you run multiple accounts, you can now share the same content to pages across Instagram. Although we question this strategy.

Pinterest just got easier to plan out with the ability to schedule pins.

This Month’s Spotlight: CES

Cross one off the bucket list, Go Social recently attended the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas. While some of the tech was a bit...technical (5G, AI and other two syllable terms), the auto portion of the show was pretty incredible. Self-driving cars that mimic your living room, (think comfort and so much entertainment you won’t need windows), virtual reality that allows you to feel like your driving down the streets of Tokyo without leaving your garage, and our favorite - a diving machine that lets you swim like a fish.
